What is included in the Registration Fee?

The registration fee covers most of the Congress meals, including Thursday reception & Saturday Banquet, tote bag, printed program, swag gifts, and access to all liturgies, conferences, workshops, presentations, vendor room, etc.

In addition, the registration fee subsidizes travel expenses, hotel accommodations, and stipends for Congress speakers & presenters, audio-visual, website, photographer, videographer, etc.

Is there an option to pay the registration fee by check?

Online payments are preferred; however, checks will be accepted.

1. Complete Step 1 of Registration Online and submit.
2. Make your check payable to Discalced Carmelite Seculars, write “Congress Registration for (name)” on the check memo, then mail it to 2398 Ashglen Way, San Jose, CA 95133.

Check payment MUST be received by March 31, 2025, to avail of the Early Registration Fee for $375.
The Deadline to receive a Late Registration Fee of $450 is May 15, 2025 or until SOLD OUT.

Where do I go to check in for the Congress on Thursday, June 19th? And what time does the Congress Registration open?
Congress Registration will be in the Atrium I area of the hotel on the Second Floor from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM.
What time is the hotel check-in?
The hotel check-in time is 4:00 PM. Visit the front desk upon your arrival. The hotel will happily check you in early if there are rooms available. If not, they will pre-register you and hold your luggage until your room is ready.
Can my spouse join me at the Saturday Banquet?

Congress meals are for registered participants only. But there is space available for guests at the banquet on Saturday. The dinner cost is $120 per guest on a first-come, first-served basis.

Can I donate or sponsor a Carmelite Friar or Sister by check?

Yes. Please write your check out to Discalced Carmelite Seculars, write “CONGRESS DONATION” or “SPONSOR A CARMELITE FRIAR/SISTER” on the check memo, and mail it to 2398 Ashglen Way, San Jose, CA 95133.

Your contribution to sponsoring our Carmelite Religious or your donation towards Congress expenses is needed and greatly appreciated. May God reward you!

Can I get a refund if I’m unable to attend?

Payments are non-refundable but transferable. It is your responsibility to find someone to take your place. The Deadline for transfers is May 22, 2025. Email 2025ocdscongress@gmail.com with details.

What should we bring to the Congress?
Bring your Breviary and ceremonial scapular. While the Congress Program includes all liturgies prayed in common, Evening Prayer on Thursday and Saturday will be on your own.

Also, bring your virtue of patience and charity. There may be crowds and lines waiting for various things. Let’s offer a good witness to each other, the hotel staff, and other hotel guests.

What’s the dress code?
Business casual attire is appropriate. You may dress up for the banquet, if preferred. We also suggest bringing a sweater or extra layer of clothing as the temperature setting inside the hotel may be too cold for some.
